International Workshop with Actual needs

On November 20, 2019 at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME) an international workshop was held under the project UzTESPING (Uzbekistan Teachers of English for Specific Purposes Integrated Networking Group). On November 20, 2019, an international workshop was organized at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers as part of the UzTESPING project (Uzbekistan Teachers of English for Specific Purposes Integrated Networking Group). The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs B. Mirzaev opened the event and provided in English with the detailed information about the faculties of the institute, great achievements and international projects. Vice-rector noted that the UzTESPING project was created by the Republican Research Center for Development of Innovative Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages at Uzbek State World Languages University ​​and the British Council. Then he introduced the guests and participants of the project.

The head of the Republican research center for development of innovative methods of teaching foreign languages, Professor Muhamadavaz Tursunovich Iriskulov, project manager and trainer of the RIAIM Svetlana Khan, coordinator of projects in the field of education and English at the British Council Saida Irgasheva, senior lecturer at Westminster International University in Tashkent Mandana Arpha attented in the workshop.

This project is designed to help teachers of English in their professional development, creates the opportunity for networking with foreign countries. The UzTESPING project meets the requirements of our national reform and includes three areas: designing materials, conducting research in English for specific purposes, and meeting the needs of teachers for this purpose. The aim of the project is to conduct trainings, meetings and webinars for the needs of teachers of English for specific purposes, which will provide opportunities for networking not only in Uzbekistan but also abroad.

During the question-and-answer session, they discussed the importance of training specialists to meet the needs of labor market, the modernization of the English language education system and the introduction of advanced educational technologies in teaching English for specific purposes. At the final stage of the workshop, successful presenters were awarded with certificates. A number of possible solutions to existing problems in teaching English for specific purposes were discussed, as a result the exchange of experience and ideas gained during the workshop helped identify the next phase of the international project.
